Hai Folks,
In this article,we are going to see how to run an operating system using Virtualization.We are going to use,VMware player which provides the easiest way to run a Virtual Machine.If,you already built your OS using SUSE STUDIO.You can,run it using the VMware Player.
To run,our Virtual Machine using the VMware player you need two things:
1.VMware Player(Software Installed)
2.Image File(.iso)-if,you are running your own os.The file downloaded from SUSE STUDIO is the Image FIle.
To download VMplayer just click here.Then,install it on your computer.Then.do the following steps:
1.Once,you start the VMplayer.By,clicking the icon on the desktop you will get a window as shown below:
2.Choose,create a new virtual machine option in the window.Once,you are done you will get a window as shown below:
3.There,specify the method in which the Virtual OS to be installed.Here,we must specify the path of the Image file in our hard disk as shown below.Then,click Next…
4.Next,select the virtual OS and it’s version.When,running our own OS things to be selected are shown in the following snapshot.Then,click Next..
5.Next,we need to name our virtual machine and also to specify the target folder(where the files of our OS will be stored).Following,snapshot will give you a clear idea.
6.Next,Specify the hard disk capacity,for our virtual machine.It is better to allocate more than 15gb.
7.Next,you will get a brief representation of your virtual machine as shown below.Click,finish to create your virtual machine.
8.Click,play virtual machine option to start using our virtual machine(which runs our OS).In the following pic,IRTT-FOSS is the name of my virtual machine.
